SCADstory Atlanta
BRC Imagination Arts
Client: Savannah College of Art and Design
Located on SCAD’s Midtown Atlanta campus, the exhibition guides visitors through a four-act spatial journey blending projection-mapped animation, dynamic lighting, custom fragrance, and an original immersive musical score. An animated presence of SCAD founder Paula Wallace leads guests from gallery spaces celebrating creative talent into increasingly immersive environments, culminating in a cinematic finale built around the theme: This Is Your Place. Designed to serve both recruitment and the wider community, SCADstory Atlanta replaces information-heavy messaging with emotional storytelling. Rather than explaining SCAD’s values, it invites visitors to experience them through a carefully choreographed sequence of spaces, media, and sensory cues that spark curiosity, belonging, and creative confidence. More than 30 SCAD students, alumni, and faculty contributed across disciplines, turning production into a classroom. Free to visit with a suggested scholarship donation, SCADstory Atlanta has welcomed thousands of visitors and become a distinctive creative offering within Atlanta’s cultural landscape. Post-visit feedback shows a measurable increase in prospective students naming SCAD as their first-choice institution, with many citing the exhibition as decisive. The project demonstrates how exhibition design can elevate institutional storytelling to the level of art while delivering clear, measurable impact.
