Swamp Motel was founded in 2017, to raise the quality of brand experiences, and “Saint Jude” was evidence of the ongoing commitment to driving innovation in the brand experience industry. It was devised as a B2B marketing initiative that would increase Swamp Motel’s brand awareness within the marketing and events industry and generate new business leads and enhance the company’s reputation.

“Saint Jude” was an AI-powered immersive experience that put audience members in the driving seat of a thrilling story in a brand new way - a one hour experience featuring cutting edge AI technology, beautifully designed sets, live performers and original music. The premise for the experience was that Saint Jude, the world’s first organisation that could enable communication with people trapped in lifelong, irreversible comas, was opening its doors for willing participants to “join the programme and explore the minds of their sleepers” through conversation with them through a custom-built console, the “Echosump”. A press and marketing campaign around the experience, delivered by humans, drove excellent results for the agency, generating 46 press articles, over 5000 visitors and was the main driver in delivering the highest new business revenues ever in 2023. Not bad for a live immersive experience where the main character is played by artificial intelligence. It was this creative fusion of technology and world-class storytelling that was the main driving force behind the critical acclaim.
