Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical

Secret Cinema

Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical ran at Evolution, Battersea Park from 1st August - 7th September 2025. Conceived as a celebration of creative craft at scale, the event transformed the venue into the living and breathing world of Rydell High.

The ambition was to immerse audiences and deliver a cohesive, beautifully designed event where set, lighting, choreography, music and performance blended seamlessly to create a joyful, communal experience. Every creative decision was rooted in clarity and accessibility. Iconic locations from the film were brought together within our expansive environment, allowing audiences to sit inside the sets, move freely between spaces and experience the story from multiple viewpoints. Lighting was integrated directly into the scenic build, with individually controllable fixtures guiding focus, while live camera feeds and double-sided screens ensured the action was visible everywhere. Performance was central to the experience. Every song was performed with a live band, while choreography blended iconic Grease moves with contemporary hiphop energy, activating the space and inviting audiences to join cheerleaders, dance contests, choir rehearsals and more. Front-of-house teams embodied the world throughout, creating seamless immersion from arrival to exit. This creative approach delivered exceptional results. Across 45 performances, over 82,000 guests attended, achieving a ShowScore rating of 90 and a Peak NPS of 79. Critics praised the scale, ambition and execution, while audiences consistently cited set design, lighting and interactivity as standout elements. The experience proved when creative disciplines are fully aligned, immersive theatre can deliver both artistic excellence and outstanding audience response.
