Harrods is a brand that is synonymous with Christmas. Since its inception in 1986, the Harrods Christmas Grotto has become a much anticipated feature of the festive season, beloved by generations of families.
For 2020, Harrods wanted to deliver a best-in-class yet differentiated Christmas experience in-store, one that was fully inclusive and would appeal to as broad an audience as possible.
A partnership was brokered with the award-winning children’s author and artist, Oliver Jeffers to create ‘The Wonder of Stories’, an immersive experience, bringing to life some of Jeffer’s most beloved stories, in his distinctive illustrative style, inside the iconic Harrods Knightsbridge store.
Customers unable to visit the store in-person were able to access exclusive virtual art classes with Oliver, alongside printable art templates and a limited-edition ‘The Wonder of Stories’ hamper.
Tickets for the physical experience sold out within 48 hours, with hundreds of families making the journey through the wonderful world of Oliver Jeffers, at the heart of the Harrods store.
